The 36th Shenzhen International Toy & Education Fair (Toy & Edu China) will be held from April 8 to 10 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, according to the Guangdong Toys Association. Together with Toy & Edu China, the Baby & Stroller China Fair and the Licensing China Fair will be held at the same time, which aim to attract visitors from the toys and games, maternal and baby products, as well as IP licensing sectors.
Currently, about 1,400 exhibitors have been confirmed to attend the fair with more than 4,900 booths, and visitors from over 20 countries and regions have registered for the exhibition.
Overseas buyers from the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, as well as representatives of distributors, department stores, supermarkets, and other major sales channels from the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia, Japan, Europe, and the United States, have signed up for the buyer's business matching activities during the fair. The number of participants is expected to increase by 30% compared to last year.
Hall 16 will be set up with the theme of Intellectual Property (IP) Licensing and Pop Toy, exhibiting popular licensing toys and pop toys.
Chen Huangman, president of the Guangdong Toys Association, said that IP licensing toys have been the dominant category of the fair. Last year, many famous IP licensing toys were exhibited at the fair, including Ultraman, Naruto, Marvel, Disney, Warner, and Wandering Earth.
According to Chen, the domestic sales of toys totaled 74 billion yuan (around US$10.28 billion) in 2023, up 12.7% year-on-year. "China's toy production technology leads in the world. In Dongguan, Shantou, and other industrial clusters, many enterprises have realized digital and intelligent production management. For example, enterprises can make sure the margin of error for building blocks be strictly controlled at below 0.02 mm, which is only 1/5 of the diameter of a hair," he added.
