Measures aim to boost commercial activities

The Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau has issued five measures with subsidies to promote commercial momentum and stimulate economic vitality. The measures will be valid until June 30, 2023.
High-level professional exhibitions in consumer electronics, new energy vehicles, digital energy, high-performance medical devices and the food industry are supported to be held in the city in the first half of the year, according to the bureau.
A subsidy equivalent to 50% of the organizer’s actual exhibition costs, capped at 5 million yuan (US$740,500), will be granted.
Enterprises are encouraged to attend key overseas exhibitions in the first half of the year, with subsidies provided from both municipal and district levels.
The city supports e-commerce platforms to keep providing delivery services and encourages them to set up rewards for deliverymen. The municipal government will grant subsidies of 1 yuan per order for deliverymen from Jan. 20 to 29.
The municipal finance department will also arrange consumption coupons worth 100 million yuan for spending on family reunion dinners during New Year’s Eve and the Lantern Festival.
Each district and new area will launch consumption coupon promotional activities, giving out the coupons in the form of digital RMB red envelopes.
The city will give a subsidy of up to 1 million yuan according to 30% of the total amount of consumption vouchers issued by enterprises for launching major commercial projects between Dec. 1, 2022 and Jan. 21, 2023, and actively holding festivals and promotional activities.
On Thursday, the Shenzhen Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau released a series of measures with subsidies to enrich citizens’ cultural and sports activities during the Spring Festival holiday and promote the recovery of tourism consumption. The measures will be valid until June 30.
In the first quarter of this year, 8 million yuan worth of sports consumption vouchers will be issued through the one-stop reservation platform for the city’s sports venues.
Meanwhile, 20 million yuan will be earmarked for the distribution of 100,000 digital RMB red envelopes, which will be given to residents who will stay in Shenzhen for the holiday to purchase performance and film tickets and books.
Star-rated hotels and tourist attractions are encouraged to jointly launch vacation packages for sea-friendly experience, camping and festival shopping. Ten million yuan worth of consumption vouchers will be arranged for purchasing package products.
A-level scenic spots in the city are supported to sell tickets at preferential prices from Jan. 15 to March 31, and give free entrance to Hong Kong and Macao residents who visit the scenic spots for the first time from Jan. 21 to 27.
The city will fork out 15 million yuan of subsidies to the scenic spots according to their preferential ticket policies.
For travel agencies that organize night tours to Shenzhen in the first quarter, a reward of up to 300,000 yuan will be given according to the standard of 100 yuan per person.
From Jan. 20 to 29, a subsidy of 200 yuan per person per day will be given to the city’s on-the-job certified tour guides.
